    In this concert of musical stories Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade paints musical landscapes as tales that she recounts over 1,000 nights to save her own life, Grieg’s suite from Peer Gynt, reveals a boasting fellow, who must choose between sweet love and a land of grotesque trolls, and Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances displays the brilliance of dances played for Russian Prince Igor upon his capture by the Polovtsians.
