210|West Gallery Talk: Tejano/Conjunto: Local Music, Global Identity
June 2, 2015
On the first Tuesday of the month we invite an artist, scholar, or cultural tastemaker to explore a work of art or issue that is unique to the West. 210|West holds geographical significance for the Briscoe Western Art Museum - it refers to our address, 210 West Market, and the area code of San Antonio.
Juan Tejeda, Conjunto musician and professor of Mexican American Studies and Music at Palo Alto College, demonstrates how San Antonio’s beloved Tejano music tradition is the synthesis of a global identity.
This program is supported by the City of San Antonio's Department for Culture and Creative Development.
