Writing Picture Book Manuscripts in a Video Crazy World
July 7 - July 15, 2015
Integrate stories with images in new and vibrant ways. Read samples, then reimagine, draft, and revise stories. Exercises in plot structure, character development, and editing transform an idea into a working manuscript; suggestions for publication, working with illustrators, and professional support complete the experience. This workshop takes place July 7, 8, 14 & 15. Diane Gonzales Bertrand is the author of many books for children and young adults including The Empanadas that Abuela Made / Las empanadas que hacia la abuela and Sip, Slurp, Soup, Soup / Caldo, caldo, caldo. A native of San Antonio, she teaches writing at St. Mary’s University where she is Writer in Residence.
