Noche Azul: A Night of Tangos
July 18, 2015
This month Azul Barrientos is taking listeners on a musical journey through tangos on Saturday, July 18 at 8 PM. El Tango is a fusion of culture and communities from Gauchesca, indigenous, Hispanic, African, Italian and other ethnicities that migrated from Europe since the second decade of the 20th century. Tango, now a genre of a global nature, has established itself as one of the most important cultural heritages of the world.
Musicians Aaron Prado, George Prado and Nina Rodriguez will accompany Azul.
Noche Azul de Esperanza is our ongoing series of intimate cafe style performances with acclaimed singer/songwriter Azul Barrientos. Featuring a new theme and musical lineup each month, Noche Azul showcases traditional Mexican songs while highlighting the cultural influences and interconnections between latin America, Spain and Mexico. The songs and genres of Noche Azul have included boleros, rancheras, folk music, jazz, as well as electronic music.
