    Drums and Sax

Join Musical Bridges Around the World as we host jazz-percussionist legend Albert "Tootie" Heath along with San Antonio's own saxophone giants Rene Saenz and Richard Oppenheim at The Southwest School of the Art's Chapel. EVENT IS FREE!

Albert "Tootie" Heath has been swinging since the late 50's, performing all around the world alongside jazz masters such as John Coltrane, Art Farmer, Wes Montgomery, Bobby Timmons, Sonny Rollins and Herbie Hancock. Currently, in addition to performing, he teaches at the Standford Jazz Workshop and is the leader of jazz-drum ensemble The Whole Drum Truth.

Rene Saenz adds Latin flavor with global festival experience as a highly sought after saxophonist. Oppenheim, a Chicago native, bridges the two worlds infused with 'echoes of boogaloo, funk and rock!' The trio are sure to create a memorable performance in the beautiful Chapel that sits cozily in the greenery of The Southwest School of the Arts. Once again, IT'S FREE!
