Queer Brown Voices Plática
October 10, 2015
Join the Esperanza for a plática with a some of the writers of "Queer Brown Voices: Personal Narratives of Latina/o LGBT Activism,” a book of essays and oral history interviews that present the experiences of 14 activists across the United States and Puerto Rico. The book offers a new perspective on the history of LGBTQ mobilization and activism. The activists discuss subjects that shed light on the organizations they helped to create and operate, as well as on their broad-ranging experiences of being discriminated against, fighting for access to health care during the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and struggling for awareness.
