    Cinema Club: The Forgotten Woman

It is 1931. In Spain, the Second Republic has been proclaimed. Clara joins the Radical Party and is elected delegate for Madrid (women can be elected to parliament, but they themselves cannot vote). Together with Victoria Kent, they are the first women parliamentarians and propose to jointly fight for women’s rights. Clara knows that to reach that goal women must first obtain the right to vote. Her first obstacle is her own party colleagues: left wing republicans afraid that women will vote influenced by the church and, consequently, for the right. Clara is soon left alone in her quest. Based on real life, the film becomes a political thriller. In Spanish with subtitles.
