    Patterns, Bodies, and Beasts

Patterns, Bodies, and Beasts is an MFA Thesis exhibition showcasing Brittany Ham and Kaela Puente.

Brittany Ham makes paintings that deal with imagined perfection and the creation of new forms. Sampling her sources from pop culture and the internet, she combines the best features of man to create new bodily forms that become a blank canvas for abstract painting practices.

Kaela Puente creates narrative vignettes on utilitarian based forms that explore the relationship between nature and culture. By reversing the roles of animals to humans, her narratives communicate the disregard towards nature for the pursuit of materiality.
