    21st annual Virgen de Guadalupe Exhibit

    Centro Cultural Aztlan is so honored to present the 21st annual Celebración a la Virgen de Guadalupe Exhibit.  In addition to exploring this secular icon and its significance in the Latin American community, visitors can experience this phenomenon through a visual narrative showcasing a myriad of artistic representations by some of San Antonio’s most noted artists.  This exhibition is the oldest and most reverend featuring La Virgen de Guadalupe as the main theme. The exhibition includes Virgen de Guadalupe inspired acrylic, oil & watercolor paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and contemporary folk art.

     

    This year's exhibit includes new works by:

    Maria Isabel Aguilar, Karen Faye Alvarez, Luciano C. Arredondo, Richard Arredondo, Maria Chavez y Vasquez, Gricelda Corpus Nill, Henry De Leon, Jose Esquivel, Sandra G. Estrada, Rosa Flores Fernandez, Oscar Galvan Jr., Rebecca Ann Garibay, Antonio Garcia, Noe Garza, Esther Guajardo, Josie Guzman, Shirlene Harris, Irma A. Hernandez, Jeffrey Hull, Maxwell Johnson, Lupe “Spike” Muñoz, JD Morera, Alexandra Nelipa, Nuevo Huevo, Don Nuñez, Tim Palomera, Angelina Pliego, Yolanda Priego, Quinto Punto Cardinal, Israel Rico, Martin Emmanuel Rangel, Adriana C. Rodriguez, Alfredo Rodriguez, Corine Rodriguez, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Sarah Rohlack, Pearl Sanchez, Justin Alexander Serna, Raul Servin, Susan Spencer, Victor Tello, Ramon Vasquez y Sanchez and Alicia Zavala Galvan.

     

    The opening reception is Monday, December 12, 2016 from 6-9pm.

    For this festive occasion the reception will include tamales, buñuelos, champurrado and more.

    Special performances by: Cristal Gonzalez, and students from NYA (Network for Young Artists).

     

    The exhibit is free and open to the public and will be on view through December 16th, 2016, Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 p.m.  For more information call 210-432-1896.
