Presented by UTSA Terminal 136 and University of Texas at San Antonio at Terminal 136
July 6 - July 22, 2017

The two-person exhibition, "Are You Listening to Me?" examines the unspoken influences sharing a life together can have on the creative process. Collaborating for years, both in work and in life, Lindsey Maestri and Cody Arnall have moved across state-lines five times, lived in eight homes together, while never sharing a studio. "Are You Listening to Me?" uses the gallery space as a vehicle to explore the dialog between their use of human and animal bodies as subject matter and themes of life and death in their work. The exhibition will feature a number of sculptures created individually by the duo—with Maestri’s pieces based mainly on craft materials while Arnal incorporates digital projection, light, and sound.
Maestri and Arnall live and work in Lubbock, TX. Maestri is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, as well as Adjunct Faculty at Texas Tech University. Arnall is an Assistant Professor of Sculpture at Texas Tech. Both are members of the Ireland based international artist collective, Expanded Draught.
