    Pacifica Quartet with Sharon Isbin

Celebrating San Antonio’s 300th birthday and the San Antonio Chamber Music Society’s 75th, SACMS welcomes the Pacifica Quartet with Sharon Isbin, guitarist, October 15, for the opening of its Diamond Jubilee season.  The concert promises a sparkling Sunday afternoon of world renowned musical excellence.

For two decades, Pacifica has earned its international reputation as one of the finest ensembles performing today.  Known for its virtuosity and exuberance, the Grammy award-winning Pacifica is quartet-in-residence at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University.  They were also the only quartet-in-residence – with the singular exception of the Guarneri String Quartet – at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

For the SACMS season opening performance, Pacifica is joined by another Grammy winner:  guitarist extraordinaire, Sharon Isben.

A musical confluence of artistry and Italian composers – including Vivaldi, Puccini, Castelnovo Tedesco and Boccherini – make this an exciting and colorful program.
