I've been fortunate enough to watch one of the Celestial Silks aerialists perform, and she was truly amazing. She had immaculate form, and incorporated stylish twists into her moves to make them fresh and original. The performance was very entertaining!

I was also able to watch some of her training, and I was so impressed with how hard-working and dedicated she was. Long after everyone else had quit rehearsing, she was still up in the air polishing the tiniest nuances of her routine. It's those hours and hours of practice that make a performance truly exceptional!

If you're on the fence about hiring these lovely ladies, I definitely recommend you go for it. You will be hard-pressed to find a more dedicated and genuinely sweet performance company! Collapse

That's what happened to Laura DiPasquale and Kelly Ramos, who formed Celestial Silks after studying with Langenberg. DiPasquale started taking classes after a Cirque du Soleil performance piqued her interest; Ramos was drawn to aerial performance as a different way to work out. Both were soon taking classes several times a week.

“This was the one workout I realized I loved and it turned into a passion,” DiPasquale said.

They decided to strike out on their own as a performance duo last year.

One of their biggest gigs to date was at the launch party for the Ghost Light Society, a group aimed at getting young professionals involved at the Tobin.

Ellie Leeper, who created the group, said she wanted an aerialist because “there is a lot of buzz about aerialists right now. It adds a magical element to an event. It's neat to watch somebody accomplish such feats of strength and beauty while suspended 50 feet into the air.”

Celestial Silks is, for the time being, strictly a side project for Ramos and DiPasquale. Both have full-time jobs: Ramos, 24, works for Difference Media, a Christian music label; and DiPasquale, 26, does computer work as a government contractor.
