UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures partners with the African American Quilting Circle of San Antonio for workshops and exhibit.
The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures will welcome the African American Quilt Circle of San Antonio, which will conduct a quilting workshop, teaching basic sewing and quilting skills.
The ITC will supply each participant a jar containing materials to create a quilted “mug rug.” They will learn about the history and practice of hand quilting techniques such as improv piecing and slow stitching. UTSA Library reference books on quilting will be available.
