Aileen’s artwork combines classic themes of Caribbean and Puerto Rican culture, often referencing folklore and traditions.

Her work explores the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art. Combining figurative and abstract elements on a color palette that draws on the vibrant Antillean nature. Her sharply delineated contrasts are shown in all their splendor in her 2021 collection, Vejigante a la mí.

Aileen has her art studio at her home in San Antonio, Texas, where she resides with her husband and daughter. Her life outside of Puerto Rico has taken her from the east coast of the United States to the west coast. Beginning in July 2016, when she moved to Destin, Florida, on the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Then she moved to Monterey, on the central coast of California, where she became a mother to her beloved daughter, where she started in 2019 her Annual Christmas Collection, Ornamentario.

Aileen studied art at the Central High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and at Casa España in Old San Juan. She has a BA degree in graphic design and an MBA.

Before beginning her career as a freelance artist, she had a very productive thirteen-year career as the lead of the creative services department, in charge of a team of graphic designers at a higher education company in Puerto Rico.
