I’m Alex (she/her) and I’m a maker and artist living in San Antonio, Texas. I completed my BFA at UTSA after starting at Southwest School of Art in 2020. I spend my days making acrylic paintings for clients, knitting socks and sweaters, and making YouTube videos about painting, knitting, and studio life.
Artist Style: Visual Art: Contemporary, Figurative, Illustrative, Nature/Wildlife, Photo-Based Painting, Representational, Still Life
Artist Medium: Acrylic; Drawing Media; Fiber/Fabric
My work is focused on fiber and other craft mediums. I love using traditional fiber arts like knitting and quilting to make pieces that question the line between fine art and craft. In my work I explore the validity of fiber craft as a fine art practice and how sewing, knitting, and printmaking relate to historical craft, feminism, and mental health.
