Hola, I’m Andrea, the artist who brought Zabringo to life. I was born in Colombia and am now based in Lakehills, TX. With a background in Graphic Design and a deep love for painting and storytelling, my art is where color, emotion, and curiosity come together.
I create expressive animal paintings inspired by nature, wildlife encounters, and the special connection we share with animals. Using bold, vibrant colors, organic shapes, and textures, I focus on capturing each animal’s spirit and personality in a joyful, playful way.
Through Zabringo, I create art that makes you smile — work meant to spark happiness and bring warmth, color, and personality into people’s lives.

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
I’m Andrea Zabala, the artist behind Zabringo. Born in Colombia and now based in Lakehills, Texas, I come from a background in Graphic Design, but my deepest love has always been painting and visual storytelling. Zabringo was born from a lifelong connection to art and animals, and from a desire to create work that feels joyful, expressive, and emotionally alive.
My work centers on contemporary, figurative animal paintings that celebrate curiosity, emotion, connection, and joy. Rather than aiming for realism, I focus on capturing the spirit and personality of each animal through bold, vibrant color, organic shapes, and layered textures. My approach is intuitive and playful, allowing movement and color to guide the composition and bring each piece to life.
Black plays an important role in my work, acting as a unifying and grounding element. It frames and emphasizes the subject, creating contrast and depth while allowing the colors to feel brighter, bolder, and more energetic. This balance between structure and spontaneity reflects my design background while leaving space for emotion and imagination.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that art can be a source of connection and light. I want viewers to feel an immediate emotional response — a sense of warmth, curiosity, or a simple smile — before overthinking interpretation. Through Zabringo, I create art that makes you smile, meant to spark happiness and bring warmth, color, and personality into people’s lives.
