I have worked as a professional musician and saxophone player in San Antonio since 2014 (soprano, tenor, & baritone saxophone) — specializing in song composition/arranging, horn section arranging, soloing, and studio recording, as well as freelance work & teaching private lessons. It has been a true pleasure of mine to have worked with many local artists/groups including: Bombasta, Aaron Stephens, The Bluprint Band, Tumbao Orquesta, Estani Frizzell, NATIAO Latin Jazz, The Westside Horns, Favorite Son, Jason Kane, J-Darius, Chris Cuevas Project, Misha Allyse, The Munoz Brothers Band, Cosa Nostra, NG2, Ruben Ramos, Las Fenix, Lia G, Tortilla Factory, Hugo Guerrero, LA45, San Antonio Transit, Donovan Keith, and Brian Scartocci.

As a member of these groups, I have been fortunate enough to perform at several venues & events throughout San Antonio and across Texas including: Events: JazzSA’live, Texas Public Radio, Luminaria, Tejano Music Awards, Jazz in the Garden at the Japanese Tea Garden, Music in the Park at Ruby City, KENS5 Great Day SA, Taco Fest, Fiesta Fit Fest, Oyster Bake, Barbacoa & Big Red Festival, Balcones Heights Jazz Festival, Telemundo New Years Eve, Pachanga De San Patricio at the Will Naylor Smith River Walk Plaza, & Texas Jazz Festival in Corpus Christi, TX. Venues: Stable Hall, LUNA, River Sun, Paper Tiger, Arneson River Theater, The Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater at The Tobin Center, Sam’s Burger Joint, The Carver Community Cultural Center, Guadalupe Theate ... view more »

Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

When approaching any musical situation as an individual or as a collective, the goal is to always serve the song, which in turn, serves the audience/listener. The act of performing music will always be a team effort, because in order to achieve the intended goal, all parties must surrender their egos and do what is best for the particular moment. Once the focus is in line with the intention, a plan must be set in place to achieve what we want to achieve musically -- when all of those elements line up, true magic happens not only for the musicians but for those in the audience looking for a release of their own.

It is not lost on me that I have a special opportunity to create and perform music, and I want to put the same nurturing and care into the art as it has done for me. Music has shaped my spirit and guides me as the person I am today, and I hope to continue to spread the joy and power of music throughout my community and around the world.
