Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

My artistic activism finds expression through the powerful medium of social commentary embedded within my scripts. Drawing from my intersectional identities and lived experiences, I use storytelling as a tool to challenge societal norms and advocate for social justice. Through nuanced narratives, I confront issues of discrimination, inequality, and marginalization, inviting audiences to critically examine the world around them and envision a more equitable future.

Collaboration lies at the heart of my creative practice. Each project is a collaborative endeavor, bringing together a diverse team of artists, technicians, and visionaries. Working in community not only enriches the artistic process but also strengthens bonds and fosters a sense of belonging. Together, we co-create immersive experiences that resonate with audiences on a profound level.

One such collaboration, "Neon Dreams," stands as a testament to the transformative power of art. This blacklight theatrical production pushed the boundaries of conventional theater, blending fantasy with neon lights to create a visually stunning spectacle. Through its exploration of love and the human capacity to love, "Neon Dreams" captivated audiences with its dazzling imagery and thought-provoking narrative, leaving a lasting impression on all who experienced it.

Through my art, I strive to spark dialogue, inspire change, and cultivate a deeper sense of empathy and understanding within our communities. By harnessing the collective power of storytelling and collaboration, I believe we can create a world where every voice is heard, every identity is valued, and every dream is realized.
