Catherine Collier is an interdisciplinary artist, who primarily works with the photographic image. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art with concentration in photography and a minor in Art History and Criticism from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Being a first generation immigrant from Honduras has influenced the way Collier looks at the cultural situation of women and the emotional, physical, and intellectual experiences of womanhood and its transfiguration across the two cultures. Her photographs focus on visualising the radical contrast between male and female socialisation. Vulnerability is a key aspect of her approach to portraiture. The resulting images challenge viewers to question their participation in constructed beauty standards and the perpetuation of misogynist notions.

Collier has been included in several juried and curated group exhibitions including Borders & Boundaries Photography Conference at UTSA School of Art, La Malinche at the San Antonio Art Museum,  UTSA’s 39th Annual Juried Student Exhibition and received an invitation to exhibit at The 19th Annual Collegiate Exhibition at the San Antonio Art League Museum. In 2023 Collier received Best of Show and Undergrad First Place in ARTOVATION exhibited by the Texas Association of Schools of Art.
