M.R. “Chibbi” Orduña (he/she/they) is a Mexican-born, Texas-raised queer performer, poet, publisher, producer, and community organizer, Director and co-host of the Words and Sh*t video podcast and the After 2 Tequila Shots podcast, and 2-time San Antonio Slam Champion. He is the Director of Virtual Programming and Editor-in-Chief at Write About Now, has self-published 2 books, was a finalist for the 2021 Wax Nine Chapbook Competition and the 2022 Robert Phillips Poetry Chapbook Competition, and was the co-editor of the anthology Contra: Texas Poets Speak Out (Flowersong Press, 2020). He attended Tin House in the summer of 2022, & his work has appeared or is forthcoming in Allium, The Texas Review, Waxwing, Pilgrimage, Acentos Review, Los Angeles Poet Society, The B’K, Defunkt, Voices de la Luna, Wax Nine, Cosmonaut Avenue, Homology, Honey Lit, The Latino Book Review Magazine, Buzzfeed, We Are Mitu, George Takei, Button Poetry, Write About Now, and elsewhere.

His latest theatrical credits include Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Hedwig), Into the Woods (Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince), the Sin Muros Latinx Theatre Festival, In The Heights (Usnavi), The Rocky Horror Show (Columbia), Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio), Bodas de Sangre (Leñador), The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged (Himself), Rent (Tom Collins), The Drowsy Chaperone (Man in Chair), and Beat: A Play on Words (Actor 5), which he also directed.
