My whole life, I have identified as an artist, although never believed I could make a career out of it. I attended Radford University in Virginia to pursue a degree in education, and ultimately decided to become an art teacher. I graduated in 2016 with a degree in Art Education, and taught for the following four years. Stoking a passion for the arts in students helped me to realize that my true dream was creating art full time as my career. I left teaching in 2021 and since then has been creating all manner of art. My favorite medium is oil, and I have completed a number of commissions in my vibrant, colorful style. I paint the world the way I see it, and the way I experience it. I create art that evokes an awareness. It is one thing to exist in the world, but another to wholeheartedly engage in it. My art represents not only what it looks like to be a place, but how it feels- the exuberance, the joy, the hope, and the victory. I love the idea that I create from emotion, and my viewer shares that with me. I have always believed in the power of vulnerability, and my art is who I am laid bare, and an invitation to the viewer to participate in that openness.
