Chris Saucedo
I am a native of San Antonio who has spent the last 20 years devoted to learning the many aspects of photographic media and visual arts. In the last 10 years I have dedicated myself to helping others find the same outlet and contribute to the promotion of our culturally-rich city. Being from San Antonio I have had the opportunity to appreciate the honest character of our city and grow from the array of global influences which San Antonio welcomes into its community. I have traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, South America, Japan, and Canada. With each trip I have gained appreciation for my hometown and look forward to conveying its beauty to others. With interests in cycling and kayaking I have a love for the outdoors and appreciation for our natural resources which I encourage thoughtful interaction with and preservation of.
Artist Statement of Work
Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
I enjoy the technical art of photography and the exciting world of visual storytelling. With 15+ years experience as a professional photographer I take a versatile approach to covering the ever changing media landscape where consideration for the end use of my photos is the objective. I rely on my years of experience photographing live performance/concerts and events that have featured A-list personalities and VIP political figures where a professional tact is necessary and security vetting is often required. My work has been published in print and online. I have covered press/editorial assignments for Getty Images, SXSW music festival and various industry activations where an immediate turnaround for delivery of photos is necessary. I have experience in photo editing and retouching as well as embedding metadata for Digital Asset Management and cataloging of images. I have been a member of the SXSW photo crew since 2012 and lead onboarding and training work shops for new members selected to be on the crew. Other photographic interests include environmental portraits of my photo subjects as well as Travel, Action Sports, Product and Culinary culture.
