I am a San Antonio native, with Mexican ancestry, who also has ties to El Paso and Seguin, Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021 with a B.F.A in Visual Art Studies and a teaching certificate, then I taught 6-8 beginner to advanced visual arts at Edgar Allen Poe STEM Dual Language Middle School. I am an artist in residence at the Den of Fools Collective where I focus on expressionistic portraiture/figurative work, that mixes colorful abstract style and realistic portraits of local San Antonions, friends and family. I highlight individuals, couples, and artists in the community, capturing their auras with bold and colorful expressive lines. I also love to capture sentimental places, such as people’s homes and plein air painting.
I have hosted collaborative art making such as screen printing live for fundraiser events including Buckle Bunnies Fund for Reproductive Justice, and creating a collaborative mural for San Antonio for Palestine event at the Brick at Blue Star. With Den of Fools collective, I have also hand painted food drive donation boxes to put in local businesses such as Tito’s Mexican Restaurant, Poetic Republic Coffee Roasters, Eightball Coffee, and Luchador Bar, to help collect food for homeless community members around southtown and downtown. I have exhibited in the Mexican Cultural Institute, Dougherty Arts Center, Brick at Blue Star, and Visual Arts Center in Austin. I’m currently a tattoo artist at Håle Tattoos, specializing ... view more »

My mixed media and painting style is brightly colorful and expressionistic, as I paint a mix of portraits and landscapes. I work with acrylic paint, oil pastels, drawing, collage, textiles, photography, and found objects to create layered pieces. I capture the essence of each person and moment, colorfully and messily, jumping between rendered faces and spontaneous shapes and lines. I also focus on creating textures and patterns that relate to the figures and their lives. My work centers around highlighting friends, family, and community members, expressing their uniqueness, resilience, and joys. I also express my Mexican-American identity, my background of being raised Catholic, and finding my LGBTQ community. I also explore themes of reimagining my childhood, and the growth and pains of aging.
