David Ortiz

David Ortiz is an internationally acclaimed artist and musician best known for his work for founding and directing Mariachi Entertainment System. David earned bachelor’s degrees in 2006, in both music and psychology from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. David is a contributing member of the 2006 Downbeat Magazine award-winning album Lloraras y Lloraras by Salsa Del Rio. David’s work with MES has been featured in online publications and social media outlets such as CNET, Playboy Online, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, to name just a few. As of January 2021, MES counts their followers across all their social media platforms at over 70,000 and the views they have earned through their content creation at over 7 Million views.

Currently, David works as a freelance composer specializing in Mexican folk tradition, and indigenous music for video games.  Most Recently, David was hired to compose original music for Guacamelee! 2, which saw a third-party release on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and steam platforms in 2018 as well as Town of Zoz, an independent game currently in development for the Steam platform.
