Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

My work consists predominantly of paintings and mixed media pieces that explore themes such as femininity, culture and identity. I get inspiration from my heritage and my experiences as a woman of color. Through symbolic imagery, textures, and layered materials, I aim to give form to personal experiences, and my evolving sense of self. My work invites viewers to understand identity and the ways personal narratives and stories can function as acts of resistance and empowerment.
