My name is Diego Chavez, and my artistic practice involves adopting machine learning and generative techniques to create multi-sensory awareness and generative abstraction. As a multimedia artist based in San Antonio, Texas, I am furthering my explorations in creative coding, video production, music composition, and interactive installations.
My interactive installations draw from my diverse palette of textural ambient soundscapes and generative video, providing a unique method for active engagement with the artwork by its viewers. Through the use of code-defined systems, I am able to create works of art that are both visually stunning and sonically immersive.
My art revolves around polyrhythmic patterns and colorful visuals that evoke a sense of peace, wonder, and play. I am constantly pushing my audio and visual works to become unique expressions of their narratives, compositions, and themes.
I plan to create new works that explore the intersection of technology and art, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of multimedia art. I am excited to continue creating immersive experiences that connect with my audience and give them the feeling of being transported to new worlds through my art.
Cynatica Conductor invites the viewer to interact with light and sound, playing the conductor overseeing an ensemble of sonic texture and fractured melody. Left alone, unique visual compositions ebb and flow - meandering across a frozen soundscape - but when the art interacts with a conductor (viewer), they grow in complexity and vibrancy, becoming an immersive collaboration between the art and the audience.
