Elizabeth Rodriguez was born in San Antonio Texas and is a full-time artist. She began her career as a self-taught artist and later apprenticed with world renowned artist Jesse Trevino for fifteen years. With him, she has completed several ceramic tile murals including the Laredito mural for Casa Navarro State Historic Site and Museum. She was also commissioned by the museum to create a painting of Stephen F. Austin and Jose Antonio Navarro; the painting currently resides in the museum. Other commissions include The Museum of Fine Arts In Houston for a Day of the Dead altar in honor of world renowned artist Luis Jimenez, and Seton Home for a mosaic mural for their new chapel. Rodriguez has also taught mosaic at The Guadalupe Cultural Art Center, were she worked with children creating permanent installations for the center. The end result of the mosaic arts program includes mosaic benches, sidewalks and platforms. More of her work can be seen at UTSA, Mi Terra Restaurant, and San Martin de Pores Church in San Antonio.
