Garrett Mormando has over thirty years experience as a practicing artist. Born in Chicago, Il, he spent his early years living in Europe as a child of a military family. He has lived in San Antonio since 1988.  HIs work ranges from multimedia installations to mural making to object creation. HIs murals and installations have been shown in group and solo exhibitions as well as various commercial venues including restaurants and boutiques and also permanent pieces in private homes. HIs diverse clientele includes architects, designers, entrepreneurs, authors, professors, politicians, NBA athletes and many residential clients. Since 2022, he has also maintained a working studio in Taxco, Mexico – living and engaging in art and cultural work at artist compounds once belonging to the internationally acclaimed silversmith William Spratling.  Mormando’s design business specializes in in all aspects of specialty painting including gold leaf, fresco, trompe l’oeil and historic restoration of painted interiors. Early collaborative work with San Antonio designer Thomas Dreyer includes restoring the interior decorative paintings in one of the famed “painted churches” near Brenham, TX and was featured in Texas Monthly and Texas Highways.
