Glenda Jones (GEEDA J FASHION)

Who am I? My name is Glenda and I am from a small Caribbean island called Dominica who now lives in San Antonio since 2010. My life has been a tremendous and wonderful experience, let me tell you a little about it. In the 1980’s, as young girl in school in Dominica, I was inspired by my teacher who was a pageant runner-up for Mrs. Dominica. She was so beautiful, fashionable, and I wanted to be just like her. As my mentor, she passed along a passion for fashion and guided me on the path to becoming a fashion designer. With her and the help of other amazing women in my village (LaPlaine), I learned how to design, sew, and make my own clothing. In the mid 2010’s, I moved to San Antonio as a young adult in my 30s, I finally had enough courage to release my first fashion collection and open my own fashion brand called GEEDA J Fashion.

Now, I continue to manage this business and have dabbled over the years in many abstract and Caribbean inspired artwork as well.  Many of my designs have been featured in New York Fashion Week, The 2nd Annual San Antonio Fashion Awards, and throughout the United States. Local celebrities have been featured wearing my designs. Many of my gowns have been featured in ICON Magazine, San Antonio Monthly Magazine, Fox 29 News, and KSAT 12 News.  I look forward to hearing from you to work on a special occasion fashion masterpiece just for you!!
