Chelsea Reed-Lahey has always been a creative soul, hailing from a family of multi-generational oil painters and photographers. From a tender age, she embraced the performing arts, excelling in ballet and tap dancing. Her creativity blossomed further through gymnastics, choir, and theater. During her teenage years, Chelsea diversified her talents by playing the flute and tennis. At 18, Chelsea discovered a passion for tattooing, starting with the stick-and-poke method until acquiring her first tattoo machine in her mid-twenties. This marked a significant turning point in her artistic journey.
In her twenties, Chelsea channeled her creativity into academia, earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling. With this degree, she integrates art therapy into her practice, witnessing firsthand the profound therapeutic benefits it offers. Her journey into photography began during graduate school in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she became captivated by the lush natural beauty. Returning to her home state of Texas ignited a new chapter in Chelsea’s artistic career. Over the past year, she has pursued tattooing full-time and immersed herself in the vibrant Texas landscape, drawing inspiration from cattle, oil derricks, and pin-up girls.Chelsea’s art is a unique fusion of her diverse experiences and passions, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Texas.
