James Cobb has lived and worked in San Antonio for forty years. He first became interested in art through the Mail Art movement, eventually transitioning into oil painting, digital image creation and musical forays. Recent group shows include Brute Force + Militant Sunshine at Arcade Campfa, Cardiff, Wales; Go West 1, the First Bilateral Contemporary Art Exhibit Between France and Texas, held at UNESCO’S Hall Segur in Paris and the William Tower Gallery, Houston; and Psychedelic, Optical and Visionary Art Since the 1960’s at the San Antonio Museum of Art. One-person exhibitions include Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Antonio, Amersforrt, The Netherlands, Cardiff, Wales, and Osaka, Japan. He currently divides his time between creating work on the computer and painting with oils.
