JL Rayne is a disabled veteran, medically separated from the United States Air Force, and now she’s chasing her childhood dream of becoming a full-time artist.
After ten years of service, JL traded combat boots for paintbrushes. Now, she creates bold, emotionally driven artwork that celebrates feminine power, healing, and overcoming the obstacles she faced in the service.
Struggling with PTSD, art became JL’s therapy and now her purpose. Each painting she creates is layered in story: from abstract chaos to vibrant form, blending inks, acrylics, and oils to reflect the complex beauty of life.
Her work serves as an outlet to navigate a life after the military, rediscovering what it means to exist outside of the uniform.
Based in San Antonio, JL paints LIVE at local venues, partners with community businesses, and shares her process online to connect with collectors across the world. She provides art business courses and coaching opportunities for artists around the world via OperationCreativeFreedom.com

After spending the majority of my adult life serving in the US Air Force, I now focus my attention towards living out my childhood dream of being a fulltime artist.
This transition has stirred up an identity crisis all veterans can relate to. My colorful paintings serve as a creative rebellion after ten years in uniform. I hope my work can encourage viewers to live boldly and authentically. I create as a reminder to myself and others that you are allowed to take up space and live a life that quenches your thirst for freedom of expression...a right I have fought for.
