I am a mixed media artist born and raised in San Antonio, TX and I love represent topics that are harder to talk about in a more colorful and intense way in my art. I have always worked with different media to give myself the most options I can but I would say my favorite to work with is soft pastels because they are very buildable and have a very smooth result. As a growing artist I truly believe we are the voice of our community because its one thing to talk about it but to see a certain message visually can hold more of an impact than some would believe.

Joelin Smith is a mixed media artist from San Antonio, Texas who makes artwork based off the ideas of surrealism with an influence of pop-art. Grabbing influences from the environment around him and tackling subjects such as mental health in young adults, sexism, sexuality, and being able to translate that through vibrant color and scenes with material such as soft pastels and digital media. He gains inspiration from artists such as René Magritte and Mel Odem who both represent the world of surrealism and go beyond the limits of the human body but still have a soft and delicate look at their work.
