Jon O'Dea

Jon started playing guitar about the age of 14. Self and peer taught, Jon spent the first year learning the basics, and some Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin riffs. Then with a new love of metal, and a growing group of high school musicians, learned complete Iron Maiden and Metallica albums and began playing covers and originals with friends.
Jon’s musical favorites and influences are diverse and cover the spectrum of Rock. His favorite guitarists include Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Terry Kath, David Gilmour, Dave Mustaine, James Hetfield, Henry Garza, AJ Souza, Peter Moses, “Downtown” Anthony Brown, Todd Whitener, Steve Cropper, Chris Poland, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jimmy Page.
Jon cut his teeth with metal and hardcore. Co-founded Times Expired, Providence based hardcore/metal band in 1992. Times Expired played over 100 shows in the southern New England area from 1993-2019 (always BOLO for a reunion!).
Jon cofounded Progressive/Power Metal band Seas of Scylla, 2013-2016.
Jon honored his first metal heroes by playing in three Iron Maiden tribute bands from 2014-2021: Legacy of the Beast in New York, Beast Over Boston, and Seventh Son in RI.
Jon plays guitar in the newly founded San Antonio Transit – Playing the Hits of Chicago! The only Chicago Tribute Band in Texas!
Jon also plays guitar in the San Antonio’s Bentleys, a 90s/00s hard rock and pop rock cover band.
