Originally from San Antonio, Texas, I graduated from Columbia University School of the Arts with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2023.  A Pushcart Prize nominee, I have had my work published in over 80 literary journals and magazines.  In 2023, I won Northwestern University Press’s Drinking Gourd Chapbook Poetry Prize, for which I will have a chapbook (This is My Body) out in 2025.

Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

Though my work runs the gamut in terms of theme (racial/ethnic identity, queer sexuality, disability, mental illness, and religion/spirituality), much of it also responds to current events, examining their social/political dimensions and the implications thereof.
