Jose DeHoyos is the dual credit theatre teacher at CAST STEM High School and has his B.A. from the University of the Incarnate Word, his M.A.from Grand Canyon University in Educational Administration, a M.A. in Educational Theatre from the University of Houston, and an E. S. from Grand Canyon University. Mr. DeHoyos has been an actor, dancer, choreographer, stage manager and director for many different venues throughout his career. Recently, Mr. DeHoyos was in the role of “Mino” in The Public Theatre’s production of “American Mariachi”. He was last seen as the choreographer for the SWISD Summer Musical “Shrek, Jr.” and as an actor in “On Tidy Endings” playing the role of Arthur.  He has performed on the Josephine Theatre Stage, with SeaWorld of Texas and Six Flags Fiesta Texas most recently as “Mayor MayNot” the Mayor of Six Flags and as a Stage Manager and choreographer as well. Mr. DeHoyos has also been a performer and dance captain for Fiesta Noche del Rio on the San Antonio Riverwalk and was on-air talent and promotions for Clear Channel Radio. He is the current artistic director with the Woodlawn Pointe Community Center’s company “Players at the Pointe” and is an adjunct theatre professor with ACCD. Mr. DeHoyos is an avid supporter of the arts and works with theatre education both inside and outside of the classroom throughout San Antonio and Texas.
