My name is Joseph “Chelin” Juarez, I am a dancer/performer as well as a dancer videographer. I have been filming and editing dance videos for over 10 years. I focus on dance companies, performances ,individuals and communities. I have been creating dance concept videos with the San Antonio dance community since 2023. My recent work has included local performers Moonlight Dance Entertainment, Choreographer Violeta De Leon, Burlesque Dancer Velvet La Vamp, and Stilt Walker Chris J. Ardon. I have created dance concept videos with each dance artist to show the unique way they move and to tell their story.

Artist Statement of Work
Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
My work consists of about 1min-2min dance concept videos of each movement artist I have worked with. I try to create a theme/story with each dance concept video I create. It is a collaboration between the dance artist and I. My approach to each video is to sit down with the artist and see what kind of story they want to tell with their movement art. This discussion includes location, wardrobe, music,length of dance, dance style, and theme.
Currently, I have been posting the videos through Instagram to share on my videography page and the dance artists page with the collaborator function to have the video post simultaneously on each others page. This function on instagram has been able to share my followers with these new dance artists I create with. I have been creating works with a new movement artist at least once a month to stay at a consistent pace.
