Justin Chase Black is an Illustrator, Painter, Prop Maker, and Fabricator born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He is an alumnus of the North East School of the Arts and received his BFA from the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design. In 2017 he co-founded the Híjole SA studio at the Blue Star Arts Complex, where he enjoys spending his time organizing shows with other local artists and continuing to showcase the work of current North East School of the Arts students. Justin’s work explores the beautiful and the macabre, with a touch of surrealism that blurs the edges of reality, as well as dabbling in sci-fi, and pop-culture.  Recently he has been experimenting with the incorporation of light and movement into 2D paintings, using mid 19th century techniques and modern technology.
