Kelsey Mata Foote

Kelsey Mata Foote is a Tlingit artist and children’s book illustrator from Southeast Alaska, influenced by her Alaska Native heritage and a childhood immersed in a rural landscape teeming with wildlife and dynamic characters. Through her art, Kelsey strives to amplify Indigenous voices and accurate, appropriate representation of Alaska Native peoples in media. She currently resides in Helotes, Texas. Areas of Interest: Language Revitalization, Indigenous Representation, Native Journalism, and Indigenous Issues.
