Kevin Cooley

Kevin Cooley fell in love with drums at a very early age…building makeshift drum sets out of boxes and buckets was a pretty regular occurrence. While his formal music education began in middle school and continued in college, his real education took place on the bandstands in South and Central Texas. After twenty plus years of drum set performance Kevin was introduced to the world of hand percussion…and then, drum circle facilitation. He was hooked. Shortly after that he decided it was time to share his love of music, his love of people, and his belief in music’s ability to heal and bring people together in unique ways. In 2009, Kevin founded Drumming Around; a company dedicated to providing drum circle activities designed to meet specific community-building, corporate training and wellness goals. Drumming Around programs can be seen (and heard) in retirement communities, public and private schools, conference rooms, public and school libraries, church retreats, community centers, and wellness groups. Kevin is based in San Antonio, TX and in addition to drum circle facilitation, he continues to maintain a very active performance schedule.
