My work revolves around two forces: A woman and a world. I create intuitively often by observing the world around me. My characters, often women, are the protagonists of my illustrations and scenarios. These beings exist as a way to analyze my mental state as well as the world around me. They express the experience of existing at the intersections of a Black person and a female, with my quirks and interests thrown in. I use fluid media ink and watercolor to emphasize complex emotions such as loss, trauma, joy, and self acceptance. My work celebrates existence, the good, bad, and in-between, with otherworldly realms and aesthetics that defy the constraints of logic.
