I have written and produced award winning projects for public and commercial radio and television in the 1990’s. In 1998-2017 I was part of the faculty in the Alamo Colleges. I directed the Mass Communication discipline at Northwest Vista College. My primary interest in teaching Media and Journalism courses is to facilitate learning of Media Literacy skills in students. Woodlawn Lake Preview  Video

The majority of my work as media artist has been with KLRN TV. In 2012-2013 I was Executive Producer of the local ARTS series, a collaboration with other PBS stations. My own video 5-7 minute segments for the series included profiles of conceptual artist Jesse Amado, faux bois artist Carlos Cortez, Flamenco dancer, Teresa Champion, glass artists Gini Garcia, poet Carmen Tafolla, fiber artist Naomi Wanjiku, and the photo documentation project of the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, Fotohistorias. I was EP for Heritage 1990-94.

I request support in completing a 30 min. video documentary about the many ways Woodlawn Lake Park is used by locals of all ages and cultures. The park is a lively center that draws families and people of all walks of life to stroll, walk their dogs, dance, run, jog and bike for fun and relaxation in nature. Woodlawn Park is also home to  kite flyers, skaters, tennis and pickle ball players, toddlers on swings and the playground, classic cars displayed and families gathered for picnics and barbecues, motorcycle parades and once a year a giant fireworks display for Independence Day.

My video will document the whole four seasons of a year at Woodlawn Lake, and will include interviews with people to hear their stories about how the park supports their happiness, health and well being. The funds will be used to pay for aerial shots, music and for use of archival photos of the park from its inception to now.
