Born in San Antonio, Texas, Margie enjoyed drawing in high school.  After a career with the federal government and then owning her own business in the private sector, Margie began painting with watercolors in 2013.  Mainly a studio painter, she also loves to paint outdoors (en plein air). Her travels have afforded her the opportunity to paint throughout the United States, Italy, Spain and France.  Combining her love of travel and painting, Margie is continually looking for a way to express herself through her art.  Her focus is to show the contrast between light and shadows in a vibrant format.

Classical artists John Singer Sargent, and Winslow Homer as well as contemporary watercolorists Richard Russell Sneary and Andy Evansen influence her.
