Matthew Tavares
Matthew Tavares is the author of the chapbook In Search of Venusian Oceans (Defunkt Press 2024). His work has appeared in High Noon, Texas Books in Review, Windward Review, CAGIBI, and others. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing, English Literature, and Social Justice from Our Lady of the Lake University. He is currently a Lecturer of English in the MFA program at Albertus Magnus College.

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
My work is centered on themes of parenthood, addiction, sensuality, relationships, and the human urge to find meaning in the world. My poetics is centered on the lyrical, with occasional narrative, and autobiographical tendencies.
