Matthew Tavares
Matthew Tavares is the author of the chapbook In Search of Venusian Oceans, forthcoming in 2024 from Defunkt Press. He is also the translator of Wendy Barker’s forthcoming chapbook, Those Roads, These Moons, forthcoming from Alabrava Press. His work has appeared in High Noon, Windward Review, and CAGIBI. He is also the Co-Director of the literature and arts festival VersoFrontera.

Artist Statement of Work
Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
My work is centered on themes of parenthood, addiction, sensuality, relationships, and the human urge to find meaning in the world. My poetics is centered on the lyrical, with occasional narrative, and autobiographical tendencies.
