Im originally from Detroit Michigan and attended college in Atlanta Georgia. I earned my BA in Art/Fashion Design (Clark Atlanta University) and my Master of Education (Texas State University) in Art Education. I’ve been teaching art for 17 years. I am certified in EC-12 Art. The McNAy Art Museum nominated me as the Art Teacher of the year in 2012. My experience as a school district Art Coordinator has prepared me to facilitate art teacher workshops, grade level field trips to art museums, and coordinating district art shows.
In addition, I own my own art and photography business called “M&M (Melonie Morrow) Artistic Productions – Painting with A Smile. This business involves me being both a freelance photographer, and artist to sell my artwork and host/teach paint parties. I have a traveling art studio where I set up my art studio at any school, home, church, or business venue and teach/host a painting party/classes for kids and adults. I’ve taught art to ages as young as toddlers to elderly ages in senior citizen homes. I’ve mastered skills for drawing, designing, painting, photographing and now I would like to educate adults in the wonderful world of art. In addition, I’ve worked at numerous artist vendor events selling my paintings inside and outside of San Antonio.
