Howdy! My name is Michael Jarratt, and I’m an artist in San Antonio, TX. I love to draw and paint – especially buildings and people. For as long as I can remember I’ve used art as a way to express myself and bring joy to others.
I consider myself a life-long artist. Some of my earliest memories involve drawing on the steps of our house in Colorado Springs and wandering the labyrinth of rooms in my grandparents’ art gallery in Salado, TX. I’d love to share that joy with you!
Artist Style: Visual Art: Illustrative, Photo-Based Painting, Portraiture, Realism, Representational, Site-Specific
Artist Medium: Colored Pencil; Drawing Media; Watercolor
My style tends towards realism, but I love to include some sketchy imperfection among the realistic proportions and shading. Subject matter leans heavily on memory of place and the people who make those places special. Whether that's a childhood home, a once-in-a-lifetime vacation highlight, or a portrait of a loved one, I love to help immortalize those memories.
