Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):
Michelle Delgado's work is process driven and poetic by nature, exploring a rejection against traditional societal norms with an undertone of the grotesque. Common themes in Delgado's work include painting as sculpture, temporality, and the cycle of obliteration and rebirth. She's created a history within her paintings by taking old, unwanted, or otherwise predetermined original paintings and materials by destroying them and creating new work from the cut elements. Her mediums include painting, collage, performance art, video art, dance, poetry, drawing, etc. Driven by spontaneity, Michelle Delgado approaches her creativity with optimism.
