Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

Drawing inspiration from eclectic sources such as objects found at thrift stores, song lyrics and figures of speech, my work examines the influence of pop culture and consumerism on gender and cultural identity. I am currently exploring my multi-cultural roots and feminine experience through self portraiture, using my figure as a symbol for abstract concepts such as personal freedom, self-awareness, and empowerment.
