Nia Jaramillo is a painter and poet born and raised on the Southside of San Antonio, Texas. Working primarily in painting and writing poetry, Jaramillo’s work explores her experiences growing up in San Antonio and her relationship to what’s going on around her. Her most recent work addresses grief and loss by recreating memories from the past. Along with her personal work, Jaramillo also creates custom portraits and landscapes for collectors across the U.S.
She graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Tx with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and Public Relations. She began her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Southwest School of Art and is set to graduate from the University of Texas at San Antonio in December 2023. She has exhibited work at Not For You Gallery and the UTSA main art gallery in San Antonio, Tx.
