Phillip Sanchez

Hello, my name is Phillip Sanchez and i am a local San Antonio Mariachi Musician. I grew up with a family that loves music and was always drawn to Spanish music. I started playing mariachi music in middle school, high school, and then college. I started playing professionally after high school with local groups here in town. From backyard events, to wedding and quinceneras, to onstage shows. And growing up with my catholic up bringing I joined church groups playing for many mass events and dia de la virgen celebrations. I loved the mariachi sound and wanted to learn all aspects of the genre. So I studied with great musicians from Mexico and California to grow in my knowledge of mariachi music and its history. I pride myself on keeping a high head and furthering my education of knowledge of this genre, and giving back to the community with introducing this form of music that has been giving to us from our ancestors. And to see the joy in people when they hear songs that’s played. Only gives me inspiration to wake up every day and spread more joy of music
